From the Director
The huge collection of black-and-white television episodes of Charlie Brown from the 1960s and 70s is a testament to the enduring nature of Charlie Brown as a loveable 8-year-old boy struggling with life’s many trials and tribulations. Many of us still watch Charlie Brown today, all these years later, because of how much he reminds us of ourselves. Ever the optimist, he was always flailing, sometimes from his own miscalculations but often times from the same hurdles we all faced as children growing up trying to find our place in the world.
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown is a stage play, first produced in west-end New York in 1967. On December 2, 2022, Amerasia will open its theater doors to present to you its own middle school version of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Together, we will take an enchanting journey with all of the Peanuts characters, from Charlie Brown and Snoopy to Lucy and Sally, Schroader and Pig Pen and a not-to-be-missed flock of birds called the Woodstock Chorus. They have a special treat waiting for you as they dance their hearts out and roll freely across the stage in their pastel birdbaths. Each of the 20 scenes of the play is brief but most certainly exciting and informative as we journey through the Peanuts Neighborhood, School Playground, Music Classrooms, and Baseball Field, and even get a peek inside Charlie’s family home. As each scene passes, we learn something new about Charlie Brown. And of course, we will feel for Charlie Brown throughout the play because no matter how much he tries, he’s always facing yet another seemingly impossible hurdle. Feathers will fall. Kits will fly. Kids will swing, literally, in the playground. You are in for a treat. It is such a wonderful delight to see these talented singers, dancers, and actors share the story of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. From all of us in the Charlie Brown family, actors, singers, designers, and technicians, we could not be more excited to share with you this wonderful story.
从1960、1970黑白电视年代开始，查理·布朗的电视剧集常演不衰，这个可爱的8岁男孩在生活中遇到的各种考验、遭遇的挫折磨难成为观众们的牵挂。直至今天，仍然有很多人在看查理·布朗，因为我们总能从他身上看到自己影子。他是一个乐观主义者，但摇摆不定，有时是因为自己的误判，但更多时候是成长过程中都会遇到的挑战——试图在这个世界中找到自己的位置。 《你是个好人，查理·布朗》作为舞台剧首演于1967年的纽约。2022年12月2日和3日，美亚中学生将演绎《你是个好人，查理·布朗》。剧中色彩缤纷的角色将带您进入一段迷人的旅程，查理·布朗、史努比、露西、莎莉、施罗德和小猪，还有伍德斯托克合唱团——一群精彩绝伦的鸟儿，所有人将投入真情和才能，为您倾情演出，精彩的表演将不容错过。
