王世龙的艺术创作历程是其精神世界不断重新建构的过程。自2006年肇始的某次剧烈思想嬗变,导致其艺术表达形式转变的结果就是这样一个过程。
因具象造型艺术创作中笔触与意识脱节所带来的分裂感,使其断然“跳跃”到创作行为与意识统一的抽象类型创作中,其媒介是作为基础笔触的——线条。
Wang Shilong's artistic creation process is the process of the continuous reconstruction of his spiritual world. This process is the result of a drastic ideological transformation that began in 2006 and led to the transformation of its artistic expression form.

Due to the sense of division brought by the disconnection between brush strokes and consciousness in the concrete plastic art creation, it completely "jumps" to the abstract type creation with the unity of creative behavior and consciousness, and its medium is the —— line as the basic brush strokes.

人类文明延续的重要证据——文字;自然万物身上显现的不可名状天然纹饰;乃至上帝视角里河流山川等等的自然形态,均为线条的集合显现,这种自然形态与王世龙作品有着似是而非的契合频率,由线入境的创作过程则是一次动态的空间表述行为,作品遂生发了“静故了群动,空故纳万境”的隐喻意味。

由线条勾勒所最终营造的作品境界显然不能简单的以冷抽象类型来归纳。幻境、幻象等等视觉感受是基于二维平面中三维影像投射所带来的空间层次表象的跃出,这种跃出有着线索追踪的独特脉络。艺术家构思与成稿之间存在着微妙的自然律动变化,这种变化在“视”、“盲”、“思”的递进中形成舒展的视觉线索,最终使画面弥漫空灵、隽永、飘忽的神秘气息,绝非偶然。艺术家的创作是主体意识与客体世界的碰撞结果,构成走向并存在着“自我主张”与“天与神赋”的不确定性,其间隐含着时间、空间、因果性的动线,当作品以冷静沉默的方式面世时,画面中裹挟的隐喻信息与表象抽离,造就了每一位观者心目中的独有的观照境界。

Important evidence of the continuation of human civilization —— text; the indescribable natural patterns of the natural things, and even the rivers and mountains in the perspective of God, the natural form is the collection of lines. This natural form has a similar frequency of matching with Wang Shilong's works, the entry process by line is a dynamic spatial expression behavior, and the work produces the metaphor of "Vacuity is therefore able to understand the changes of all things, and emptiness is therefore able to accept the realm of everything."

The state of the work created by lines cannot be simply summarized by cold abstract type. Visual feelings, such as fantasy and illusion, are based on the leap of the spatial level representation brought by the projection of three-dimensional images in the two-dimensional plane, which has the unique context of clue tracking. There is a subtle natural rhythm change between the artist's conception and the draft, which forms a visual clues in the progression of "vision", "blindness" and "thinking", and finally fills the picture with ethereal, meaningful and drifting mysterious atmosphere. Artist's creation is the subject consciousness and object world, collision and there is a "self-assertion" and "heaven and god " uncertainty, which implied time, space, causal line, when the work in the form of calm silence, the picture of metaphor information and representation, created every viewer mind unique view.

先哲认为所见世界是个人的表象,而现实的本质则无法被我们直接感知。在王世龙的作品中,线条要素既是表象过程,又是对于最终期冀抵达的艺术本质的一种探索。艺术家尝试通过随缘而变的线阵,抑或关闭画面中的负空间,甚至双手同步勾勒等方式,试图寻找出超越物质表象,脱离物象属性的精神法门。在更大的信息沉淀里,使观者体验无尽之自由态。

The sage believed that the world he saw is the appearance of the individual, while the essence of reality cannot be directly perceived by us. In Wang Shilong's works, the line elements are not only the process of representation, but also an exploration of the artistic essence of the final destination. The artist tries to find a spiritual method that transcends the material appearance and deviates from the image attribute by changing the line array with the fate, or closing the negative space in the picture, or even drawing the outline with both hands. In the greater information precipitation, make the viewer experience the endless freedom.

本次王世龙个展作品均为这一变化、完善时期的代表作。线形游动是艺术家主观意识对创作中画线这一动作的强调,但这绝非只是创作形式的应用实验,以单调的笔触与复杂的构成抵达意识之境,这种创作方式的本身对艺术家的自我认知与思辨能力提出了更高的要求。

作为艺术家的王世龙的知识求索边界没有局限于纯艺术理论研究探索,丰富的宗教、历史、地理、文学、哲学等知识的汲取为他的创作思想提供了宽广的储备,为他线索探究之路提供了更多元多维的可能性。

This solo exhibition of Wang Shilong's works are all the representative works of this period of change and perfection. Line ambulant is the emphasis of the artist's subjective consciousness on the action of line drawing in the creation, but it is not just an application experiment of the creation form. It reaches the realm of consciousness with monotonous brush strokes and complex composition. This creation mode itself puts forward higher requirements for the artist's self-cognition and critical thinking ability.

As an artist, Wang Shilong's knowledge search boundary is not limited to the research and exploration of pure art theory. The rich knowledge of religion, history, geography, literature and philosophy provides a broad reserve for his creative thoughts, and provides more multi-dimensional possibilities for his clue exploration.

王世龙,男,1974年生于四川成都。


学习经历

2002.9---2005.7 四川美术学院油画系硕士研究生;

2004 留学德国Kassel艺术学院,自由艺术系。

2005.9至今,任教于青岛大学美术学院 中国美术家协会会员

2006---2009中央美术学院国画系综合材料工作室进修。


研究方向:综合绘画,抽象艺术

About Artist

WANG Shilong
Chinese, b. 1974 Chengdu, lives and works in Qingdao and Beijing.
Wang Shilong started to draw lines in 2007 and has continued to do so since. When drawing lines initially he pays attention to the rhythm of each line, until the lines becoming gradually intensified and a dynamic structure begins to form. Each additional line will affect the power flowing in the whole system adding an extraordinary intensity.

In his works on paper, the pressure sensitive silver point pen he uses demands technical skill and a certain controlling force; while his canvas paintings demand greater sensitive be paid to the tactility of the surface. Nevertheless each line “should be full of force like pulling the bow slowly, with power but not releasing the arrow”. The German-born author and theorist Rudolf Arnheim’s writings on visual perception form the foundation of Wang Shilong’s exploration of painting. Wang Shilong’s introspection, and self-analysis of his extensive practice is affected by Buddhist philosophies — he considers the abstraction in his work through conceptions such as grahana (to apprehend/grasp/conceive/conceptualize) and grâhya (the apprehended/ grasped/perception (of objects).
Wang Shilong studied in Kunsthochschule Kassel in 2004. He completed his Masters in the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2005 and currently teaches at College of Fine Arts, Qingdao University. His works are held by the Guanshanyue Art Museum and by private collectors.
